Kirk, played by William Shatner, Spock, played by Leonard Nimoy, and Leonard H. Bones, played by DeForest Kelley. At first, the ratings were very low for this show. But by the early 70s, it created an impact and became a cult classic status and influenced the whole popular culture. Now, Star Trek is a whole new franchise with 11 tv series, 13 feature films, and various books, toys, and games. It is considered the most famous and inspiring tv series of all time.

William Shatner as James T. Kirk
Fans of Star Trek won’t be able to see their beloved James T. Kirk if the team had approved of the original lead, Captain Christopher Pike. Jeffrey Hunter was about to play this role. But after the first episode, Cage, the team hired our very own Kirk. William Shatner was famous before playing the role of Kirk. Moreover, He was in one of the episodes of Twilight Zone. Shatner has been awarded numerous awards for his role as Kirk. He even voiced Kirk in the Star Trek: Animated Series.

Nichelle Nichols as Lieutenant Nyota Uhura
Nichelle Nichols was the power lady of the black community as she was the first television actor who didn’t have a small role but the role of strength and power. She and Shatner shared the American TV Series’ first interracial kiss too. She was there with the show for all three seasons. Nichelle wanted to quit after the first season, but Martin Luther King Jr. convinced her to stay as she is the only one who can motivate other black people to come forward and live their dreams.
Walter Koenig as Ensign Pavel Chekov
Ensign was Russian, but according to his role as Koenig, he was born in America, and his parents were Russian immigrants. The main reason that Koenig was cast is that he resembled Davy Jones, who was a teen idol. Apart from being an actor, Koenig was a famous screenwriter too. Moreover, He even wrote some episodes of Star Trek: Animated Series. Lastly, he wrote “What Happened to the Class of 65” and “Land of the Lost”.
Leonard Nimoy as Commander Spock
Spock was the most famous cast of Star Trek after Captain Kirk. He was the alien member of the group who was half-human and half-Vulcan. In short, he was an alien from the Vulcan planet whose residents operate only with logic but not with feelings. However, The funniest parts came from the rivalry between Kirk and Spock’s differences. Spock was famous for his Vulcan Salute and his farewell dialogue “Live Long and Prosper”.
Other famous characters were George Takei as Lieutenant Hikaru Sulu, DeForest Kelly as Leonard H. Bones, and Majel Barrett as Nurse Christine Chapel.
