The CW has renewed the series for a fourth season in January 2020 and even they have set the release date as well. The fourth season of this series is set to be premiered on 8th February 2021 next year.

After the confirmation of the fourth season and its released date, recently The CW has made an announcement of its Spin-off. The CW was announced on 12th November 2020 about the development of the backdoor pilot for a spin-off of the character Painkiller with its original character seen in Black Lightning named “Jordan Calloway”. It was announced that Jodan Calloway will repeat his role in this spin-off as the eponymous character and this planted pilot spinoff will be written, directed and executive produced by the original developer of this series Salim Akil and it will be air as the seventh episode of the fourth season of Balck Lightning series.

Jordon Calloway is an actor and producer, we have seen in the CW series Black Lightning where he has played the role of Khalil Payne or Painkiller. Since 1st season we have seen him as a Garfield high school student having a girlfriend named Jennifer with high dreams of going to the Olympics. One day he got shot, a stray bullet severs his spine and he couldn’t able to walk, hence later he accepts the offer of Tobias who showed us a bad evil guy to walk once again and become a painkiller. For this, he receives cybernetics enhancement to make him meta strong but later he regretted the alliance of Tobias and apparently got killed by the crime boss. But later in the story, we have seen him once again in the A.S.A’s metahuman pods. Now he is keeping himself away from his beloved and trying to get away from his past.
