On 7th April 2014, they hired Jack Paglen to write the script. After two years, universal hired Scott Stuber, Michael De Luca, and Dylan Clark to produce the Battlestar Galactic film. Later, Francis Lawrence was in talks to direct the film with Lisa Joy reported on 9th June 2016 to write the movie. It was reported on 18th December 2018 that Jay Basu had been hired to rewrite the script, which was last written by Joy.

Recently, the Hollywood reported on 22nd October 2020 has reported that the script will be writing by X-Men fame Simon David Kinberg. Along with the scriptwriting, Simon will be co-producing the film too with Dylan Clark.

In a distant star system, Battlestar Galactic is a set where humans’ civilization lives on a group of the planet, which is called “Twelve Colonies.” After the Cylons, Battlesatrt Galactic may show humanity’s last survivors, a race of robots humanity made a surprise attack and destroyed their home planet.

As the story is yet to be written, we can’t assume the initial plot of this movie, but we can expect to see some shots from some web series, etc., which has already been created.
