Apple enters the 5G market with the new iPhone 12

Apple, the California-based software developer, and consumer electronics manufacturer, made an official announcement yesterday from Apple Park in the Golden State. Tim Cook and his crew unveiled the new iPhone 12, the latest line of smartphones, which now comes with the latest 5G technology. This sophisticated, high-velocity data transfer protocol puts download and upload speeds at unprecedented levels. The iPhone 12 has four versions according to your budget and taste. It also comes in four different colors.
Come with us, and let’s take a look at what Apple has in store for us.

Streaming from Apple Park in California, with massive anti-COVID-19 measures Tim Cook and the company unveiled its plans to commercialize and distribute their latest smartphone. There’s no predecessor to this device.

The iPhone 12 might reminisce its older brother—another victim of programmed obsolescence—, the iPhone 4 with its straight bezels, still, that’s about it. This device packs a punch.

Homemade silicon

A few months back, Apple began developing its silicon, ending a long commercial relationship with San José-based ARM Holdings. The new iPhone will feature a bionic A14 chip, designed and manufactured at home, presented as the “most advanced chip of ever made” this 5nm process, six-core CPU, four-core GPU is among the fastest in the industry. Apple claims that this chip performs up to 50% faster than its competitors —a tongue-in-cheek nod to Qualcomm.

5G

The latest 5G technology, a complex data transfer protocol, offers incredible, never-seen-before upload and download speeds. While other manufacturers have unveiled and launched a wide array of devices, this is the first time for Apple. And they’re doing it with a bang. The new iPhone 12 Pro Max will run on sub-6GHz and mmWave 5G, meaning that it will be compatible with all the bandwidths available for the vast 5G market.

In the keynote address, the company made many references on how Apple plans to offer smartphones that will be compatible with all these different data transfer protocols. The company bets high on a wide array of network carriers worldwide and their other 5G protocols.

 Augmented Reality

Cupertino has always been characterized for betting on avant-garde technology. In that sense, they incorporated the iPad Pro a LIDAR sensor, now that sensor makes its appearance on the latest iPhones.
With LIDAR technology, users can make better use of the camera in low-light settings: Up to six times faster than its predecessors. LIDAR technology also allows for better captures in portrait mode at night.

iPhone 12 Screen and Camera Details

The new iPhone 12 Pro comes with “Ceramic Shield” screen glass; Apple claims that with this glass technology, the phone is up to four times stronger against cracks when it drops. Like its 2019 predecessors, Apple offers a triple-camera system: A 12MP wide lens and ultra-wide lenses. The wide lens offers a much higher aperture: ƒ/1.6. According to the makers, this kind of technology offers up to 27% better captures in low-light settings.

The iPhone 12 Pro Max offers even more choices: It comes with a 12MP telephoto 65mm lens that can zoom up to 2.5x. It has a potent wide lens ƒ/1.6and a new OIS system. This wide lens is 47% larger, which it combines with the other lenses to create incredible photographs with up to 87% better performance in low-light settings.

Apple ProRAW: New Image Formats

Apple ProRAW is a new image format that combines the computational capacity of the Apple software with the benefits of capturing footage in RAW format. Before the iPhone 12, users that shot on RAW missed out on some outstanding elements that Apple had to offer, like Smart HDR and Deep Fusion. With this new device, users can record in a format that combines both elements.

This new format captures images using a multi-step process that combines features in a new form with aperture delays. It combines ISP, GPU, CPU, and Neural Engine processes to create crisp, nitid images like never seen before.

The new iPhone Pro models will be able to record HDR video, a landmark in the history of this product, which includes support for direct Dolby Vision HDR recording with straight editing support from the Photo app.

MagSafe

Apple incorporated to these new iPhones their home-made MagSafe tech. This magnet-based feature allows for attaching cases, charging, and other peripheral accessories that will improve the experience for iPhone users.
