The Mandalorian season 2 was confirmed in September to be released on October 30, 2020, through Disney+. The shooting had been a wrap, during mid March, even before the filming shutdown was ordered for social distancing due to corona.

It was also said that a potential season 3 is being pre-produced during April 2020.

Many casts from the 1st season are joining us in the coming season 2. Pedro Pascal as ‘The Mandalorian, Gina Carano as Cara Dune, Carl Weathers as Greef Karga, Giancarlo Esposito as Moff Gideon, Ming Na When as Fennec Shand and Omid Abtahi as Dr Pershing will be some of the returning casts this season.

We would also be able to see many new but familiar characters like Rosario Dawson who would be playing the character of Ahsoka Tano from The Clone Wars, Micheal Biehn who probably would be playing the role of a bounty hunter, Temuera Morrison, who previously played the role of Jango Fett, would now be the legendary bounty hunter, Boba Fett.

Through the trailer provided above, we can see that Din Djarin is looking for Jedi. Due to this, we believe that the 2nd season might probably be about Baby Yoda and the revelation of his home on another planet. The final episode of the 1st season had also revealed a mysterious darksaber which would be explained in the coming season.

The Disney CEO, Bob Iger, mentioned that many more interesting characters would be introduced through this series and that these characters might induce the chances of some potential spin offs.
